Ineke Velsink travaille le bronze et les pierres dures dont différentes sortes de marbre. En travaillant le bronze l‘artiste connaît une grande liberté, parce qu‘on commence à sculpter la statue à partir de rien. Avec la pierre l‘artiste connaît plus de restrictions, car il s‘agit d‘une matière fixe et il faut travailler de l‘extérieur vers l‘intérieur. Ses statues sont souvent spirituelles et balancent au bord de la figuration et de l‘abstraction. Ce qui paraît abstrait, se révèle comme une composition bien mesurée. La statue surprend alors et donne une impression tout à fait différente qu‘au premier regard. Ineke Velsink works with bronze and hard stones such as various kinds of marble. Working with bronze gives the artist profound liberty since a sculpture will rise out of nothing. With stone the artist is more restricted since stone is solid material that needs to be worked on from the exterior towards the interior. Ineke‘s statues are often spiritual and they balance between the figurative and the abstract. What appears as abstract reveals its self as being a well-measured composition. The statue will therefore surprise by creating a different impression than made at first sight.
